Burberry Beauty Lands in Australia!

I was trolling through David Jones in Chadstone two weeks ago in search if the Burberry Summer fragrance when tucked in right next to the perfumes I instead found the Burberry beauty counter! Now, I did have plans on how I was going to spend my money that day but obviously, I just had to get my hands on some Burberry makeup :D

I was recently in the UK/Europe for 5 weeks and while over there indulged in some items from the line knowing that it was not yet available here in Australia but after returning I found out they had actually arrived while I was away. Currently there are only three counters in Australia: Bondi in Sydney, Chadstone Shopping Centre Melbourne and Burke Street Melbourne. From memory it is exclusive to David Jones. If you are one of the unlucky ones that don't have a counter within a reachable distance, they do sell the line on their website but I believe the shipping is quite expensive.

Anyway, on to what I bought. I managed to walk away with minimal damage to my bank account with a lipstick and a blush.

I had been lusting after the lip cover in #16 Claret ever since I saw a swatch of it on Lipglossiping. And I have to say it didn't disappoint. The colour is a deep pinkish red, much more red than the photograph below is showing.

At first I was a little weary as it had quite evident silver glitter particles in it but upon application they're hardly noticeable and the colour is just far to beautiful to care. Honestly, this is not a colour I would have picked out myself as I tend to go for the more neutral pinks, not too light and not too dark.

However when sorting through my makeup collection recently I realised that I already have more than enough of those shades and need to start turning my attention to lipsticks with more colour to them. It makes me think of autumn and winter but I think it would also be a great colour for going out at night. The lipstick does have a rather strong scent however I don't tend to notice it. I believe it's rose scented but it also has a bit of a powdery smell about it. I'm not 100% sure what I mean by that either. I'm not particularly fussy about scented cosmetics but if you have a sensitive nose this might not be for you.

I also bought a light glow blush in #05 Blossom. I have one other Burberry blush in #03 Rose and I'm happy to say that blossom is just as lovely as rose. I really struggled to get an accurate picture of the colour but here is the closest I got:

Just imagine it far less orange with more of a pinky coral tone to it. The picture honestly only shows the imprint on the powder well.

Burberry blushes from my experience tend to start very sheer but are easily buildable. To show you the colour I had to do extreme clown cheeks and trust me, this was a lot of layers of blush.

I feel that Burberry blushes are perfect for those who struggle with a heavy hand during blush application. It takes a bit of effort to make these blushes look garish so they're really the fool proof blush. Also just note that the blushes have the same rose scent as the lip covers only a little stronger.

The packaging of the Burberry beauty products is the most luxurious of the high end cosmetic brands in my personal opinion. The attention they have put into every little detain from the check imprint in the powders and lipsticks to the magnetised closures of the products makes you feel as though you've spent you small fortune on something truly luxurious and worthy of it.

Burberry Blush retails for $70 AUD, Lip Cover $49 AUD
